Can I have bone broth?

If you want to use pre-packaged bone broth, it would count as a protein. Here are some guidelines…

An 8 oz. serving of the Kettle and Fire beef broth brand has 35 calories, 6 grams of protein, and no fat. This would count as 1/4 of a protein serving.

Other forms of bone broth are high in fat, have 208 calories, 16 grams of protein, and 9 grams of fat per serving, counting as 1 full protein serving.

If you make the bone broth yourself, we suggest using bones with very little fat or meat on them. Count your 8 oz. serving of bone broth as 1/4 protein serving, as shown in the top example above.
