We know that the veggie burgers can fall into a grain grey area, and some veggie burgers are mostly vegetables, so they don’t have high protein content. Since there are so many brands and new ones come out frequently, it’s nearly impossible to enumerate all of them, so we consider all veggie burgers a protein source. The best thing to do if one is concerned about protein content as opposed to grain is to read the label. If the first or second ingredient is a protein source (beans, tofu, etc.), and/or there are a significant number of grams of protein per serving, that would be a choice we suggest. We do not recommend having veggie burgers every day during the weight loss phase because they can slow weight loss.
